Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their stats.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools, and provide various bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The number of upgrade components required for a given item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced using various ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia, or a rune, and many are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, which makes them more effective in conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain amount. This is displayed on the item upgrader mod's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the exact amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and the quality of the product you are in awe of.

Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, therefore it should not be considered a loss.

If you take an item off after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of the glyph will vanish. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This can be helpful for players who are taking lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and usually better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolling is an excellent option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final level. This is evident on Rings and Diadems as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items which will allow players to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. However the paid rerolls aren't something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item upgrader kit. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the upgrade value of the stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for an individual stat. In addition, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases the Best item upgrader roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also opportunities for greater or special rolls. Additionally the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of Best item upgrade and should you upgrade a unique or rare item to an exceptional item type, it could get an increased iLevel.

Upgrades to items can be costly especially when you're upgrading an item of gear from the normal to legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the base iLevel as well as the amount of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to get to the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky your upgraded item will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track, and will unlock an additional bonus effect. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.

Based on the item's level of base and upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an exceptional item will be able to get the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
