Then, take a measurement of the length of the spindle protruding from the underside of the handle and then order a replacement online or bring your old one to a hardware store for matching. Then, pull out the setscrew that was on the operator shaft and smooth it out so that the set screw can lock onto the shaft (photo). Now your uPVC window should be closing without difficulty.

Broken Hinges
