World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The item upgrade feature allows players to upgrade their existing equipment. This can be done through any item upgrader NPC.

Generally upgrades increase an items main stat and can give it extras depending on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for build casters.

Armour

Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link protected from damage in most situations. While it cannot be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in different ways to improve its defence capabilities.

The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect animals or people from physical harm or injury, either from direct physical assault or from various dangers posed by the environment and activities. Historically, most armour was made of fabric or leather, but metal protections were also utilized, especially for military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.

As with weapons there are a variety of ways that armor can be upgraded but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection, and require a higher price in rupees and materials to unlock.

The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades, meaning that after they've been put in place, they can't be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. You should only apply the most advanced upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have the materials required to complete them.

You can find the upgrade components you require in a variety of places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. They're usually identified with a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol and are found in huge quantities as you progress through. Although they can appear randomly, there's an opportunity that obtaining certain upgrade components will lead to an adventure that rewards players with more.

It's important to note that even though the amount that upgrades offer may vary, it will always be greater than zero. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a high-defense boost that can protect you from all kinds of attacks including magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for all classes.

Weapons

You can upgrade items your guns by using special upgrades that make them truly unique. These upgrades can boost damage or alter the stats of the weapon to match your specific build. They can also unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments, various kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item. The weapon must be at least a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons only take one upgrade.

Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world from enemies or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of components that can be incorporated into armor, weapons trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra effect while they're in use. The equipment must be a certain level to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and can be used to enhance the stats of the base weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. These upgrades can be purchased from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They can also be dropped by combat.

Two NPCs can enhance your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon as well as an enhancement.

Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands if you plan to play in a melee-based build. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is not any different, with some reforges better than others.

Magic Items

A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic at a time. If an upgrade item project has been canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for the item. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to create or purchase, but can provide additional benefits.

A magical item can be any item level upgrade with special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they could also be armors, shields, cloaks and potions. They can also be rings, scrolls or other items. Certain of these items can be made sentient.

The majority of magic items can be upgraded to become infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful to a player or help them overcome a difficult encounter. A weapon that is infused with an ingredient that is unique could, for instance, provide an extra level of damage to a particular kind of enemy. This is especially beneficial for characters who have reached the level where they are likely to face a single kind of monster over and over again in dungeons.

A ring infused with magic might provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or cut (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character is given a second rest. This is particularly useful for combatants who are melee or anyone looking to stay clear of buying a shield.

Certain objects with enchanted properties have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is beneficial for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on an index that is based on the number Intelligence points spent.

Other enchanted items might allow the player to change their appearance, or create a new one. These items are especially useful for characters who were forced to leave their home or are in a place that they might not be welcomed. An item that is magical can provide them with an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone but a select few.

Utility Items

Utility items are those that don't fall into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons they are not a single utility item that is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items provide an effect that a player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that activate when the user presses a button or activates a skill.

Generally, the most common type of utility item upgrade is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions while on the ground. Many useful items can be immediately produced in the Engineering section while others can be unlocked through research projects or projects at the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items available in the standard inventory, players can also obtain some more powerful utility items by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items are upgradeable to make them more effective.

The majority of utility items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or boost the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. Sharpening stones, created by an Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, created by the Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items of utility can be used by the player to increase Damage or Condition Damage.

All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utilitarian item at the start of the campaign, and an additional slot can be obtained by equipping certain types of armor or completing engineering research or experiments in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows the player to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is equipped in the main grenade slot.
