While Hestia is a goddess of peace, her role is to keep the other Olympians in the right place. She is also the patroness of marriage, and takes particular care of married women. She was a pious woman, but she had several affairs with her husband's sister Zeus. She had children with mortals and nymphs including Triton and Theseus.
