Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums. It was a more powerful, constant effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard skills were also more sophisticated, sharper and less akin to previous recordings.
