Easy to install

Fiat 500 key covers can be a great way to make your keys more modern. You can pick from a variety of colors and styles to find the one that best fits your style. The greatest thing is that they are easy to put in, meaning you can do it yourself in about ten minutes. You'll only need a screwdriver and some patience. The first step is to take off the cover. The original cover must be removed before the new one is able to be installed.

After you have removed your old cover Use a flathead screwdriver to pull out the four major attachment clips on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the picture below. Note the yellow locating tabs that have to be deactivated.

Replace the old battery with a #CR2032 coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery corresponds to the opening in the fob, and that the"-" negative side is facing towards the buttons made of rubber.

Attach the cover for the passenger side mirror by aligning locating tabs. Once you've done that place the fob that's on the driver's side back into the vehicle and test it. Press the button located at the top of the key. If everything works correctly your car will turn on the parking lights, and the doors will lock automatically.

Easy to remove

The key fob contains a microchip inside that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert the key in your Fiat car, it presses an ignition switch, which serves as a "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM can then read the transponder that is on the key fob to verify the validity of the key.

You can also choose to add the twin pack with a sport design for a unique and fun look to your key covers. These covers snap on over the original cover and are available in Cream and Silver. The key cover is only functional when the original black cover is removed from your key fob.
