Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with external and internal doors usually having different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is essential. It is based on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. For instance, doors that are external should be fitted with a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features that can improve security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be properly measured to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however, if this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. It is essential to not have a extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.
